Yes, The Countdown is on! Less than 2 weeks before our signature Gala event. Annual "TASTE OF BARBADOS" - Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 6 pm until 12:30 a.m. in the Crystal Ballroom at Best Western Golden Sails Hotel, 6285 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, CA.

TASTE OF BARBADOS 2019

The Barbados Association of Southern California will be celebrating its 6th Anniversary and 53rd Anniversary of Barbados Independence. Joining us, for the first time in Southern California, will be our special and distinguished guest, H.E. Noel Anderson Lynch, Barbados Ambassador to the United States. He is interesting in meeting everyone especially the Barbadians and their friends in the Southern California Diaspora. So show some support!

You will have an opportunity to mingle and sample some favorite “Bajan” treats; browse the Bajan market place to the pulsating sounds of Shoy Phillips on the Steelpan; enjoy a sumptuous dinner and be entertained by one of West Coast # 1 Caribbean/Reggae bands – Fully Fullwood Band and The Explosive D.J. Vince. There will be auctions, raffles and other surprises.

This year BASC will also recognize and honor the following individuals for their stellar and outstanding service and contribution to society:

Barbadian, Selwyn Jones - Lifetime Achievement Award, Trinidadians, Vincent Bain Samuel & Lydia Nesbitt-Samuel, and Jamaican, Marie Kellier - Community Service Award
